Incredibly blessed after a weekend with two wonderful friends of mine, and over 550 likeminded people with Amy Grant - one of the three most influential people for my walk with Christ. Amy's music has inspired me to continue to seek God over the last 25+ years. My friend Shelley introduced her to me in 1986, and I have been hooked since. The Lyrics and Music have touched my heart in very profound ways - have brought Healing to my broken and wounded Heart over the years.
This weekend left me inspired and lifted up, simply because I was spending it with likeminded people - is't it just beautiful, how spending time with God's People pulls you back up - this renewal of Spirit and Soul was desperately needed after a time of spiritual drought and warfare.
New friendships were formed and deepened - Praising God, for diligently filling my life with new friends, that truly love me for who I am - Over the last few years, this was my prayer for quite some time - today I am surrounded by a multitude of dear friends, that love my for who I am in Christ - for being me, the way God created me. Thank you Jesus!!! So blessed indeed.
This brings me back to the Tennessee Weekend with Amy Grant - I was immensely blessed, that Amy sang my two favourite songs Friday night at the Factory in Franklin, TN - Praise God. On the website we have been asked to send in song requests for the concert - yet, as it has been my routine this year, I have been so busy, that almost anything this year caught me a bit unprepared...... - I never even had time to read all these e-mails, so I never sent a song request in, but guess what.....the one that I could have requested 'Missing You' was sung early into the evening - it found me crying again, yet brought Healing in it's wings.....but then I was even more deeply blessed by another song, Amy sang, that I wouldn't have even requested, because I have not been listening to it in ages: 'I'm gonna Fly' - WOW....this was a key song in the nineties for me......back then this song was a true revelation - now, almost 2 decades later, the same words were even more meaningful all over again - can't get it out of my head since.........the truth 'no more faces to hide behind, just a smile and a dream that's mine' and 'I'm gonna Fly, even if I am the only one, who wants to Fly' has found it's way deep into my heart.....and I resonate with it to the core.
Thank you my dear sister in Christ, Amy Grant - your songs have done that so many times over the years......sometimes I wonder, how can you sing about my story, without even knowing me.....often times it felt, as if you were singing just for me :) - I know, that many people, that were at the Tennessee Weekend with you, feel the same way. What a blessing you are to the multitude of people, you encounter and reach with your songs. I know, that God/the Holy Spirit has inspired your songs, that we would receive Healing through it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing the Gift, God created inside of you with us.
We're all on a journey, and we need people like Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Karen Kingsbury - and don't get me wrong, as much as these 3 people had an impact on me, you may have been impacted by different people...... - please know, that you don't have to like the music or books from either Amy, Michael or Karen - God has created a multitude of people (musicians, songwriters and authors, writers and all other artists), that we may all find the one we're looking for....someone, who will inspire us through music, songs, paintings, etc. - that we will be encouraged, blessed and lifted up, in order to keep walking, when the going gets tough, and we need strength to carry on.
God has anointed and appointed people like my favourite Threesome, that we would see Him in their talent and be forever changed as a result. That's the ultimate purpose: to touch the lives in our sphere of influence - to make a difference in this world!!! To extend the Love and Grace God gave to you, when you first understood, that you truly were forgiven, and set free to fly.To help your fellow man to grow wings and soar through the air......
Thank you Amy for your generous heart. May God continue to bless your heart - You are such an inspiration to many. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many - especially for your songs reaching into my heart and soul. Thank you.
I hope, my sweet friends, you found people that inspire you, to stretch yourself and come out of your shell, to reach the people around you. Choose what you look at and what you listen to in accordance with the word of God, that you may stay under the protection of Christ Jesus.
